Connect an AI assistant
Gemini
Add HitApply to Gemini so you can search jobs, write tailored documents and track applications from a Gemini chat.
Requirements
- A personal Google account (not a work or school one), for someone 18 or older in the US.
- Gemini set to English. Custom apps aren't available in other languages yet.
- Keep Activity turned on in Gemini Apps Activity.
- Gemini on the web, at gemini.google.com, for setup. Once it's added, HitApply works in the apps too.

Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No Custom apps section | Check the requirements above: a personal account, US, English, and Keep Activity on. |
| Gemini asks for a client ID and secret | Leave them empty. If it still asks, remove the app and add it again. |
| Gemini doesn't use HitApply | Mention HitApply by name in your message. |
| You want to remove access | Press Disconnect next to Gemini in Settings → AI assistants. |
