Your profile and answers

  • Web app

Your profile is what HitApply knows about you: your résumé content and your answers to common application questions. Every résumé, cover letter and filled-in form is built from it.

Résumé

The Résumé tab holds your experience, education, projects and skills. HitApply picks and rewords the parts that fit each job, but never adds anything that isn't here, so keep it complete and true.

  • Upload Resume fills it in from your résumé file. Check what it found: uploading replaces what is in the editor.
  • More than one profile: import another résumé as a new profile to keep separate profiles for different kinds of jobs (say, software and data). Choose which one to use when you queue a job, or ask your assistant to use it.

Application answers

Forms ask things a résumé can't answer: your address, work authorization, whether you need sponsorship, expected pay, links to your portfolio, and optional demographic questions.

  1. Open Profile › Application answers.
  2. Press Finish in 2 minutes and answer what applies to you.

The extension and connected assistants use these on every application. Anything you leave blank, you answer on each form yourself. When you answer a new question on a form, the extension can save it here for next time.

Files

The Files tab holds extra documents, such as a transcript or a certificate, that you can bundle with a résumé when a job asks for them.

Your data

Your profile is private to your account. A connected assistant can only read your saved answers if you allowed it on the approval screen. See How it works.
