Autofill
Fill in job application forms from your HitApply profile in a click, with your tailored résumé and cover letter attached. You still check every answer and press Submit yourself.
Before you start
- Install the extension and sign in.
- Check your details on HitApply's Extension page:
- Autofill Profile: name, contact details, address and links.
- Autofill Answers: work authorization, sponsorship, salary and other common questions.
The more you fill in there, the less you type on each form.
Where it works
Autofill fills forms on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, the systems many companies use for applications. On other sites, the extension can still save the job, but you fill in the form yourself, or use an assistant.
Fill a form
- Open the job's application form. The HitApply dock appears in the bottom-right corner and says Application form detected.
- Check that the dock shows the right job. If it doesn't, use its switch option to pick the job you're applying to.
- Press ⚡ Autofill this page. HitApply fills in the fields and attaches your résumé and cover letter.

- Check every field. Questions HitApply couldn't answer are left for you.
- Press the site's Submit button yourself.
HitApply never submits an application for you.
Multi-page forms (Auto)
On forms with several pages, such as Workday, tick Auto in the dock before you start. HitApply fills each page, moves on, and stops at the final review page so you can check everything and submit.
On sites that ask you to sign in first, tick Auto before signing in. HitApply carries on by itself once you're in. It never types your password.
Answers it learns
When you answer a question HitApply couldn't, it remembers your answer for similar questions on later forms. Review or change them under Autofill Answers → Learned Answers.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No dock on the form | Reload the page. Check the site is one of those listed above and that you're signed in to the extension. |
| A field looks filled but the site says it's required | Click into it and retype the first character. Some sites only notice changes you type. |
| The wrong résumé was attached | The dock was on a different job. Switch to the right job and fill again. |
